I conducted a video review of a new MelodySusie 2-in-1 nail lamp, which you can watch above. This lamp is almost identical to the 36-watt MelodySusie UV lamp that I reviewed not long ago (see that review here), but the major difference is that this lamp comes with two types of bulbs. It comes with four 9-watt UV bulbs and four 6-watt LED bulbs, so it functions as a 36 watt UV lamp or a 24 watt LED lamp depending on the type of bulb that you install.
I think most people would love to have a lamp that can function as LED or UV so that you can cure any type of polish or nail treatment. This lamp unfortunately has one flaw, and that is the timer settings. It has settings for 120 seconds, continual use, or 180 seconds… ideal settings for UV usage, but not for LED. The major advantage of using an LED lamp is the faster curing time. Most LED polishes will cure in 30 to 60 seconds (always read the labels!). So if you want to use this lamp in LED mode, you have to manually time the cure and turn the lamp off. Kind of a bummer.
I mentioned this drawback to the MelodySusie reps and they are going to make a correction so that this lamp functions well in both modes. In the meantime, this lamp in its current state is more ideal for someone that wants a UV lamp and may want occasional LED usage.
This lamp is currently on sale for $69.99 at Amazon.com. See it here.
